This is a picture of our time in The Phoenix Festival that was held from 13th to 16th July 1995 at Long Marston, Stratford-Upon-Avon.
Sharing a tent with four blokes for four days was a very demanding experience. It has put me off camping and festivals for life.
The headliners of the festival were Britpop icons Suede and the Hip-Hop legends Public Enemy. Being a John Denver fan I did find Public Enemy’s music to be very challenging.
My highlight of the festival was at the comedy tent. I decided to see an unknown comedian who was compared to Norman Wisdom. Only about a hundred were in the tent but I had the privilege to see a comic genius at work. The unknown comedian was Lee Evans. It was no surprise that he has become a comic superstar.
